This program is designed for students who want to upgrade their high school academic record to improve their chances of admission to a CEGEP program. Both high school and CEGEP level courses are offered.
Students can remain in this program for a maximum of 3 semesters before switching to a DCS program.
This program is for students who wish to complete courses specifically required for admission to a university program.
Offerings may vary per semester.
If you need a course that is not on this list, such as Macroeconomics, Microeconomics or Using Computers, consider applying to the Springboard to DCS program.
Students are placed in this part-time program when they have been deemed in “poor academic standing” twice at any CEGEP. The purpose is to requalify for admission to a regular DCS program.
Students must stay in the program for a minimum of 2 full semesters (maximum of 3; summer semesters not included) and must pass at least 4 college-level courses.
Students may take 2-3 courses per semester as long as one of the following conditions are respected:
Once a student has requalified, they may switch to a full-time DCS program in Continuing Education or they may choose to apply to a regular division program via SRAM.
A wide variety of courses are available. It is recommended that students take courses missing from their previous DCS programs, if available. If unsure, students may speak with an academic advisor.
$2.00 per course hour
Independent Studies is for students who do not meet the admission requirements to a DCS program or for those wishing to register in a credit course without enrolling in a program. As this is not a program of study, additional fees apply.
