In this program, students combine theory and performance to excel in their chosen instrument—whether it be brass, guitar, piano, strings, woodwinds or voice. Technique courses are complemented by instruction in music history and training in recording technology and music applications. Students benefit from participation in small and large ensembles and weekly concerts on campus. College facilities include computer labs, two digital recording studios, practice rooms, a recital hall with two grand pianos and a 400-seat auditorium.
Our department is committed to helping students follow their dreams of pursuing jazz, pop, rock and classical music. We offer prospective students free instrument and vocal workshops to help them prepare for their auditions. In addition, entrance scholarships are offered to students of any music program (pre-university, career or double DCS) who achieve the highest audition grade in their instrument or voice category.
